About Dr. Sherman

My name is Dr. Sherman and I teach first grade at Ben Franklin! For my first three years at Ben Franklin, I taught kindergarten. Then, I moved up to first grade for two years. I went back to kindergarten for a year, and now this is my ninth year back in first grade. If you followed all of that, you'll realize that this is my 15th year of teaching. I went to IUP for both my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and my Master's Degree in Literacy. I finished my doctorate in curriculum and instruction- don't worry I won't give a shot or medicine. It just means I went to a lot of extra school because I love it!
I grew up in Indiana and went to elementary school at East Pike. I have a boy named Sam. He's a very busy, chatty guy! He'll turn 6 in December. My daughter, Emma, is two years old. I have a cat named Eva. She's a little crazy but really cute. I love to read. My favorite author is Mo Willems. I love reading aloud Junie B. books.
